Conflict in the Middle East has escalated over the last several days.
Mercedes has confirmed that their team personnel who were in Bahrain during the recent conflict have returned to the UK. The team was in Bahrain for a Pirelli tyre test when the situation escalated due to US and Israel strikes on Iran. Safety concerns led to the test being abandoned, and the focus shifted to safely returning the F1 personnel. Mercedes successfully managed to bring their team members back, including those needed for the upcoming race in Melbourne. Although there are questions about the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix, team boss Toto Wolff emphasized the seriousness of the situation and stated it’s too early to predict the impact on F1. The FIA and F1 will be closely monitoring the events and making necessary decisions as needed.
